History
JAM is an acronym for “Julio and Manny” the founders and owners of JAM.
One of the elements of this story that is not an urban legend is the years of experience between J&M. Combined J&M have over 35 years in the auto repair industry. Julio and Manny were employees for a car wash in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. They always talked about starting their own business.
The idle talk became a reality when they worked full time at the car wash and then would work night and weekends at a small garage establishing their newly founded business. This first shop was located on the west side of Chi-town in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. The shop was not state of the art and probably the size of a 3 car garage. The humble beginnings were part of many long days at work combined with the building of customer appreciation. Soon after the garage was too small and a dream had now becoming reality, JAM moved to a 4000 sq ft building located in Forest Park, IL.
Within 2 years JAM was on the move again to a 10.000 sq. ft. location at 1400 Hannah Ave in Forest Park, IL. Some things still remain the same at Jam …. “Quality Repairs”, “Long Hours”, “Hard Work”, and “Always Remembering that the Customer is First”. |
